With 27 years of Healthcare experience, Tonya is a leader in promoting best practices and quality assurance. Her career as a nurse in a variety of settings, launched a focus on Infection Prevention. For the past 6 years as an IP Nurse, she worked with policies/procedures, accreditation preparation, environmental services, ambulatory surgery, hospital/clinic and safety team. As the IP educator, Tonya participated in quality control measures, product safety and review, and served on the occupational health committee. The training, knowledge and dedication to best-practice clinical outcomes, allows her the unique opportunity to now partner with the industry. An active member of APIC, she holds certificates in Fundamentals of Infection surveillance, prevention & control, Epidemiologic principles, IP Strategies for the surgical setting, Infection Control programming and Meeting CMS Conditions for coverage for ASC’s. Tonya remains current in evidence-base guidelines and is actively working toward her IP certification in the Long-Term Care setting. Her focus on achieving clinical outcomes through training and processes for the healthcare facility, highlights her belief in the importance of reducing healthcare-associated infections.
